The Rose is dying
Its silken petals are falling
One by one by one
Silently drifting downward
Onto the ground
Only to be trampled upon
And forgotten swept away
By the wind
Our Love is dying
My angry tears are falling
One by one by one
Silently trailing downward
Onto my cheeks
Only to be futilely wiped away
Replaced by more and more
They are both dead now
I’ve buried them within my heart
The petals are gone, the tears
Have dried and life goes on
Day by day by day
